Arnaldo Silva was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, and began playing music at the age of three. He began playing percussion shortly thereafter and took formal lessons in his homeland. Arnie got his first professional job as a musician at age 14 when he played with the Raciel Reyes y Sus Majistrales. While attending the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao, he played with Pedro Congas y su Orquesta International.

Since moving to the United States after university, Arnie has traveled and played extensively with high caliber musicians such as Machito, Tito Allen, Tito Nieves, Camilo Azuquita, Lefty Perez, Simon Perez, Orquesta Navori, Yari Moore, Orquesta Opa Opa and currently for Johnny Polanco y su Conjunto Amistad.

Arnie chose Tycoon Percussion’s Master Antique Series Congas and Bongos for playing and touring.
