Inocente Alvarez was born in Havana, Cuba and began playing music at the tender age of four. Soon after, he realized his true passion when he was introduced to percussion, and it was this passion that kept him devoted to his talent and eventually graduate from The National School of Art in Havana.

After having played with a number of groups in Cuba, as well as performing regularly at the world famous Tropicana Cabaret, Inocente was chosen through a vigorous audition process to become the youngest percussionist and member of one of Cuba’s most prestigious orchestras, Orquesta Aragon. With Aragon, Inocente traveled to over 70 countries around the world, performing in world-famous venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Olympia in Paris, the Barbican Center in London, the Presidential Palaces of Ivory Coast, and many more.

Inocente has played many of Tycoon Percussion’s congas, but fell in love with the Master Platinum Fade Series, which he has chosen for his setup while touring. In addition to touring, Inocente has taught percussion universally and has recorded on more than 50 albums with various artists and projects. Two of his recorded albums have been nominated for Grammys.
