Steve Campbell and Lindsay Rust are professional artists and educators who perform and teach together as Dancing Drum. Their mission is to provide an inclusive forum for people of all ages to participate in the universal language of rhythm by experiencing the power of the drum for positive personal transformation and community-building.

Since 2002, Dancing Drum’s innovative and interactive music education program has brought drumming, dancing, and art to many thousands of people nationwide. Steve and Lindsay are accomplished percussionists who have studied drumming in many countries throughout West Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia. They each bring 15+ years of drumming and teaching experience to their interactive drumming performances, artist-in-residency programs, drum circles, community drum ensembles, and drumming workshops at schools, colleges, universities, and venues throughout the United States.

In December 2006, Steve and Lindsay collaborated with Tycoon Percussion to create the Dancing Drum Signature Series line of African style Djembes and Djun Djuns in an effort to produce African style drums in an environmentally-friendly way and to address the consistency issues found in this type of instrument.

The result was a line of professional-level products that have amazing sound quality and consistency, and is being used worldwide for drum circles, music education, as well as just plain fun.
