From Alajuela, Costa Rica, Victor Varela is a talented young bongosero who has performed and toured in many countries around the world. Having played with Chino Espinosa y los Duenos del Son, one of the most popular salsa bands in Southern California, Victor has also performed with various major Latin artists while touring in his homeland of Costa Rica such as Celia Cruz, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Lalo Rodriguez, Mickey Taveras, Oscar D’Leon, Manuel Mijares, and Orquesta La Luz.

Victor plays Tycoon Percussion’s Master Platinum Tri-Fade Bongos. He currently resides in Costa Rica, where he plays regularly and teaches percussion
