Alberto Torres “Latin Percussionist” Conguero, Timbalero, Bongosero. At an early age of 6 years old, Alberto has been influenced by his Mother who was a club Singer and Performer of the Great Music of “Mambo”, “ChaChaCha”, and “Boleros.” As he played on and old pair of bongos that his Grand Father gave him to the music that his mother was listening to, it was at that time that he not only fell in love with the music, but knew what he wanted to Be and so it was then that he started to take a great interest in playing the BONGOS. Albero also was influenced at an early age of 15 and has studied with the great Percussionist Armando Peraza in learning the “BONGOS.” He has carried that knowledge to playing the Congas and the Timbales and Bongo for many Bay Area Groups as Orquesta Timbalero, Latin Essence, El Desayuno, The Latin Rythem Boyz, Saboriqua, just to name a few. Alberto has also played side by side as a guest Percussionist with Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri, The Escovedo Family, Tierra, Malo, Sapo as well as many other Top local San Francisco Bay Area Salsa and Latin groups. He has also played for other Latin, Funk, R & B groups throughout Northern California. Alberto has always had a love for Latin Music, and he pursued with great interest in being a band leader, and playing Timbales for His well known Latin Jazz group called “Tropical Caliente” that has performed and open for some of the best known Latin groups in the SF Bay Area for the past 18 years. He has collaborated with many Bay Area Groups in playing the Congas, Timbales and Bongos and with other OUTSTANDING Bay area Musicians that are NOW and The best known Salsa groups in the whole Bay Area,…….
