Jimmy Cruz

Jimmy Cruz was born on January 26, 1986 in Holguín Cuba, began in Music at the age of 4 years and studied at the Vocational School of Arts for Musician Percussionist. He performs as a composer creating percussion works and methods of studies from the fifth through the twelfth grade and graduates from instrumentalist musician and percussion teacher.   He has formed part of several groups of diverse genres like Rock, Traditional Cuban music, salsa, pop and there exposed the fruit of his inspiration as composer and arranger. He was the founder of the salsa fusion orchestra KUBAN TIMES, with which he had presentations all over Cuba and at international festivals.  Jimmy Cruz has collaborated with figures such as OSCAR DE LEON, ANDY MONTANEZ, ISIDRO INFANTE, LA INDIA.   Winner of the award for composition in the city of Holguin with the theme "Sabor a Cuba" Moves to Mexico where he creates a fusion band called TR3VOLT as a Percussionist, director and arranger where he manages to participate in the Sound Track of a novel made by MTV (POPLAND) with the single Unbreme Tu Corazón.   As a musician Percussionist, arranger Jimmy Cruz has collaborated with artists like Kalimba in the production and recording of the theme "Together Walking" with Aranza on the theme "Hazme Tuya" and made the arrangement and recording of salsa for the hit "Drunk Love" Edwin Luna (La trakalosa de monterrey)   At the end of 2014 Jimmy begins with the production of his first album as Solista (Open your heart), where he records the great majority of Percussion instruments. Thanks to the impact it has generated, the salsa princess "La India" invites you to sing the song "Vivir lo nuestro" at a concert held in the city of Chetumal on November 21, 2015.   Beginning in 2016 Jimmy is invited to be part of the talent of the International Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado FAOT in Obregón Sonora city.   On July 2 he was part of the Salsa Fest cast, held at the 21st Century Convention Center in the city of Merida, Yucatan, alternating with great figures of salsa music, such as Willy Chirino, Isac Delgado, Aime Nuviola and Tito Nieves.   Later he was called to participate in the Salsa Fest MX sharing stage with Gilberto Santa Rosa, Diego Galé, Porfi Baloa and his Teens, Dani Daniel, among others. Producing and recording the song "We are partying".  He participated as a Musician Percussionist in the recording of the song No Me Daba Conta, which was nominated for Latin Grammy in the category of best tropical song of the year 2016.
