Miguel Cruz was born in the city of Tuxpan, Veracruz, Mexico. He studied Music of the University Veracruzana where it concludes their studies obtaining the Title of Degree in the area of Percussions receiving special mention. During their musical preparation it has developed different musical styles from the classicism, until the contemporary repertoire, approaching the African folkloric traditional music Veracruzana and Latin American, popular Mexican and Cuban.
He was the founder of the Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra of the State of Veracruz.; was founder of the one it Ensemble of percussions Xoc with who has had the opportunity to interpret and to diffuse music of roots from all over the world and of contemporary composers. Their experience in Symphonic Orchestras and ensemble it has been with the following ones: Symphonic of Xalapa. Camerata of the America. Orchestra Esperanza Azteca Symphonic National of Cuba. Quintet of Gonzalo Romeu Quartet of percussions Tambuco. Quartet of Saxophones of Mexico with who I carry out a recording where works of Eduardo Gamboa is interpreted, Ignacio Cervantes, Manuel M. Ponce, among others.
Miguel study the Advanced Studies of Percussion imparted by the Quartet of percussions Tambuco, in the National Center of the Arts. He also took specialization courses in Cuba, in the popular and folkloric area with outstanding teachers in the such branch as: José Luis Quintana "Changuito” Mario Jáuregui "Aspirina," "Pancho" Quinto, Amelia Pedroso, etc.
He has given concerts accompanying important artists like: Paquito D´ Rivera, Celia Cruz, Oscar Stagnaro, Victor Mendoza, Robert Chapelll, Osmany Paredes, Giovanni Hidalgo, Marvin Diz, Mauricio Herrera, Miguel Bose, Fernando de la Mora, Luwing Albert, Eugenia León, Tania Libertad, Hector Infanzón, etc. He imparted percussion classes in the University of Arts and Sciences of Chiapas (UNICACH) and master Class of Latin percussion in the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH) in the City of Tuxtla Gutiérrez Chiapas.
He has given percussion Clinics and Concerts like: Festival Jazz Duke Ellington 2006 and 2008 Washington D.C. Kennedy Center, Festival Arts Seoul Corea, Festival Percussion Patagonia Argentina, Festival Arts Shangai China, South Africa, Pasic 2008 Austin Texas, Festival International Marimba Tuxtla Gutierrez Chiapas, Drummers Festival in the City of Puebla, in Xalapa, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí City in the mark of the jazz Festival 2004, Master Class in PerkuLliria Festival de Percussions, Valencia España 2010, Workshop Tallin, Estonia 2015, Festival the Percussions Tomarimbando Tomar Portugal 2017, Festival International de percussions in Monterrey Mexico 2018. He recorded different disks in the jazz style like, Un Poco más with Narimbo Latin Jazz group (2006), He´s Coming! of Edgar Dorantes Pianist (2004), Something Cool…tural of the Percussionist Miguel Valdez (2004), ¨Mangüe¨ Quartet de Saxophones de México, Somos Uno Centavrvs 2018. Likewise continuous their carrer like Soloist inside the generate Contemporary, besides continuing in diverse percussion projects, and Pop Latin Music. Now he is teach director Latin Percussion in DIM School, in México City, is a member of the Paquito D´ Rivera Sextet and Narimbo Jazz latin Group
