Tommy Fernandez is part of the Tycoon Family.He now uses the Roberto Vilera Tycoon Timbales Tommy Fernandez Timbalero/Band leader/Musical Director from New York City. Tommy is influenced and inspired by sounds of Tito Puente, Ralphy Irizarry, Orestes Vilato,Jimmy Delgado and by his Uncle Ray Alcantara who he gives all credit for teaching and influencing him.He has studied his craft at the Boys Harbor for the Performing Arts and Hunter College in New York City, and has received scholarships,awards and certificates from both institutions. He is the Band leader/Timbalero and Musical Director of the band LowerEastSalsa which has performed at world renowned venues such as B.B.Kings, The World famous CopaCabana, S.O.Bs, Just to name a few...As band leader for LowerEastSalsa he has released 3 singles titled "Pideme, “Baldito Caneka”and Luz Del Cielo" which has gained critical acclaim on cdbaby.com,itunes and many more music websites. 2018 brings forth the much anticipated cd debut for LowerEastSalsa which promises to showcase his skills as a percussionist and band leader.
